About GameGuidelines
GameGuidelines is an independent football education website with one simple goal: to make the official rules of football clear, accurate, and easy for everyone to understand.
Our Mission
Football is the world’s game, but its official rulebook was never written for the average fan. The IFAB Laws of the Game are precise, technical documents — essential for referees, but dense and intimidating for everyone else. GameGuidelines exists to bridge that gap.
We translate all 17 Laws of the Game into plain, simple language — without dumbing them down or losing the details that matter. Every explanation on this site is checked against the official IFAB Laws of the Game (currently the 2025/26 edition), so you can trust what you read here.
From a controversial offside call to a confusing handball decision, from the new goalkeeper time rule to the fine print of a penalty shootout — our mission is to give you a clear, correct answer in seconds, whether you’re on the touchline, in the stands, or on the sofa.
